Willa Weaver Alexander

LANDIS - Mrs. Willa Weaver Alexander, formerly of Landis, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Bridgewater Nursing Home in Bridgewater, Va.

The daughter of the late Martin and Maggie Casper Weaver, she was born on Oct. 15, 1925, in Rowan County. She graduated from Rowan County schools and was a long-time member of First Reformed Church in Landis.

Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker a part-time employee of Rozelle Lighting Company where she worked with her husband.

She lived in North Carolina all her life until just after her husband's passing in 1999, when she moved to Virginia to be with her daughter and family. For the past eight years, she has resided at Bridgewater Home.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert E. Alexander, and 10 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Dennis Weaver.

Survivors also include son Robert (Bob) Alexander Jr. and wife Tammy; grandchildren Bethany and Sean of Morganton; daughter Susan and husband Reid Linn of Bridgewater, Va.; granddaughter Karie and Michael Wilburn; great-grandchildren Lauren, Bennett and Phillip of Harrisonburg,Va.; grandson Patrick Linn and Sarah Huffman; great-grandchildren Harper and Hannah of Arlington, Va.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Service: Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at First Reformed Church in Landis followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., also at the church, with Rev. David Franks officiating, Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorials: The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridgewater Home, Bridgewater, VA; or First Reformed Church, Landis, NC.
