Reba Barber Krider

Reba Barber Krider, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

Born April 17, 1943 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Grady Lee Barber and Phil Beck Barber.

She was educated in the North Rowan schools and graduated from North Rowan High School. A graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College, she received her Master’s Degree from Appalachian and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Reba was a teacher in Kentucky, Texas and then at North Rowan High School where she taught English and served as Year Book Editor. She was a radio personality on WSTP/WRDX Radio for many years and also taught at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

She was a life-long member of Trading Ford Baptist Church and attended Second Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Choir. She enjoyed and attended American Legion Baseball and was a supporter of all North Rowan High School sports and Duke University Basketball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curry Waller Krider, Jr. on October 16, 2013.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeremy Krider of State College, PA, an aunt, Ruby Alley of Salisbury; sisters-in-law, Terry Krider Hill and husband Randy of Salisbury and Brenda Krider Martin and husband Joe of Valrico, FL; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed by her classmates.

The family will receive friends from 2-3PM, Saturday, August 6 at Second Presbyterian Church. At other times the family will be at the residence of Terry and Randy Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 3PM Saturday, August 6 at Second Presbyterian Church, 732 Lincolnton Rd., Salisbury, NC, with the Rev. Margaret Almeida officiating. Interment will follow at Trading Ford Baptist Church Cemetery, 3600 Long Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC.

Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 732 Lincolnton Rd., Salisbury, NC.
