Lois Robinson Hooper

Lois Robinson Hooper, 90, died Saturday in a Lawton care center. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Fletcher, with Rev. Mike Tompkins, officiating. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher.

Mrs. Hooper was born October 2, 1919 east of Fletcher to Joseph and Alice Robinson. She grew up and attended school in the Cedar Grove Community and was a 1938 graduate of Cement High School. She had worked at Tinker Air Force Base during World War II. She married Don W. Hooper on December 19, 1945 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2007.

Following her marriage she returned to Fletcher where she and her husband farmed. In later years she helped her husband in his insurance agency.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fletcher and had served in the church nursery. She had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Mountain View Home Extension Club.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, D.W. and Roberta Hooper, Fletcher; two daughters and a son in law, Laveta and Jon Long, Lawton, and Patty Ryder, Fletcher; four grandchildren and their spouses, Melinda and Brian Kincaid, Dustin and Joni Hooper, Stefanie and Jeremy Roberts and Colby and Krystal Ryder; four great grandchildren, Amanda and Madison Kincaid and Braeden and Lydia Roberts; a sister in law, Nadine Robinson, Lawton.

Four brothers, Glen, Leonard, Bill and Delbert Robinson preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the activities fund at the McMahon Tower or to mission work at either First Baptist Church of Lawton or Fletcher.
