Charles William Misenheimer

Charles William Misenheimer, 88, of Rockwell passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at The NC State Veteran’s Home in Salisbury with his son and daughter present.

He was born June 26, 1930 in Rockwell, NC to Roy and Lillie Mesimer Misenheimer. Mr. Misenheimer attended Rockwell school. He was drafted for the Korean Conflict in 1951 and served for two years being stationed in Fort Bragg in the 82nd Airborne as a cook. In 1953 he was discharged and went to work for Rowan County ABC Board where he worked for 30 years and retired.

Mr. Misenheimer was baptized on September 28, 1930 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Later he joined the Ursinus Evangelical and Reformed Church on April 9, 1944 in Rockwell and later attended Reform Church in Rockwell.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 64 years, Margaret Jacobs Misenheimer on April 14, 2018 and granddaughter, Stacy Misenheimer.

Surviving are his son, Mitchell Misenheimer and wife Jan; daughter, Debora Misenheimer all of Rockwell, NC; and brothers-in-law, Charles Jacobs, Jr. and wife Sybil of Landis, NC and George Jacobs of China Grove, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Wednesday (July 11) at Summersett Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM Thursday (July 12), conducted by Rev. Catherine Costello, at Rowan Memorial Park with Military Honors by Rowan County Veterans Council and North Carolina National Guard.
