Betty Jane Pecka Peeler

Betty Jane Pecka Peeler, 96, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab Center.

She was born January 1, 1926, in Chicago, IL to the late Frank James Pecka and Katheryn Gressmann Pecka. Mrs. Peeler was a graduate of Manley High School and Bryant and Stratton Business College in Chicago. She was employed with Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad in Chicago before her employment at Granite Quarry School where she was a teacher's aide, and later worked at Happy Traveler's Motel where she was a desk clerk.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell E. Pecka and his wife, Mae; Richard O. Pecka and his wife, Catherine; sister, Frances Louise Pecka Stallone and her husband, John; son-in-law, Larry Spivey; daughter-in-law, Becky Peeler; and the father of her children to whom she was married for 25 years, Wallace Lyerly Peeler.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Jane Peeler Spivey of Virginia; sons, Terry Wayne Peeler of Louisiana and Kelly Keith Peeler of Salisbury; and five grandchildren, David Spivey, and Daniel Spivey of Virginia and Katie Peeler, Mandy Peeler, and Will Peeler of Salisbury.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, at Wittenberg Lutheran Church in Granite Quarry, with Rev. Heather Bachelder and Rev. Craig Sefa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives following the graveside service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab, 820 Klumac Road, Salisbury, NC, or Wittenberg Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 345, Granite Quarry, NC.
