Delma Ray Nash

Delma Ray Nash, 77, of Albemarle passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Oakboro, at the home of his son.  His funeral service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Medlin and Rev. Mickey Howard officiating and burial will follow at Poplins Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born May 13, 1938 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late General Ray Nash and Ola Chandler Nash.  He was a retired supervisor with Wiscassett Mill Co. with 40 years of service.    He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where he was an ordained Deacon.  In later years he had been attending Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Mr. Nash enjoyed music and played guitar in his earlier years.  He enjoyed woodworking, grandchildren, and worshiping his Lord.

He was married to the late Betty B. Nash who preceded him in death on April 24, 2013.

He is survived in death by son Ronnie K. Nash of Norwood, NC, son Billy J. Nash and wife Rhonda of Oakboro, NC, son David Ray Nash and wife Rene of Albemarle, NC, and daughter Teresa Adams and husband Carson of Chesterfield, SC.   He has one brother, Renus Nash and wife Kay of Albemarle, NC. 

A grandson, Josh Adams, preceded him in death, also.

Mr. Nash had 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 until 7 PM.
