LOCUST - Leroy Hatley, 82, of 12731 Mission Church Road, died Tuesday July 6, 2004 at his home.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Lou Pieffer will officiate. Graveside rites conducted by DAV chapter No. 27 of Concord. No visitation is scheduled.
Born June 19, 1922, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Sarah Jane Hatley Hatley and Gaston W. Hatley. He was retired from Cannon Mills and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. and a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. He was a life member of DAV chapter 27 in Concord.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude B. Hatley of the home; a son, Gary Lee Hatley and wife Linda of Concord; a daughter, Royce Hatley White and husband Steve of Locust; two sisters, Lamer H. Reynolds and Ruth H. Wentz both of Concord; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is in charge of arrangements.
