Jennings Everette “Bill” Corriher
Jennings Everette “Bill” Corriher, 88, of Rockwell, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born May 20, 1929, in Rowan County to the late Grover C. and Georgia Fraley Corriher.
Mr. Corriher attended New London High School and retired from North Carolina Finishing Company after 40 years. In retirement, he worked for Gerry Wood Automotive delivering automobiles, a job he truly loved. He was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Rockwell and enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains and the beach. Mr. Corriher was known for sitting on his front porch waving at and joking with his neighbors. He loved his grandchildren, his granddogs Jozie and Gizmo, and especially playing with his great-grandsons.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Corriher was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Leazer Corriher, whom he married August 23, 1950, son, Randy Keith Corriher and wife, Sheila, granddaughters, Kelly Reinholz and husband, Richard, of Faith and Jana Novak and husband, Kevin, of Faith, three great-grandsons, Ayden Reinholz (Bubby), Landyn Novak, and Jensen Novak, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will visit with friends and relatives from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Monday, July 17, 2017, in the fellowship hall at St. James Lutheran Church in Rockwell. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of St. James. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
