SALISBURY - Ethel Miller Valley, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Summit Place in Little River, S.C.

Born May 24, 1925, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Jim J. Miller and Josephine Poole Miller.

Ethel worked for the Selective Service and as a school secretary. She also volunteered at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center for 15 years. She was a member of Dunn's Mountain Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Harold Grant Valley; second husband L.C. Foster; son Mike Valley; brothers Gideon Miller, Challie Miller, Council Miller; sister Eva Miller.

Those left to cherish her memories are son Jim Valley of Palmetto, Fla.; daughter Linda Beason (A.J.) of Little River, S.C.; son Ronnie Valley (Diane) of Salisbury; grandsons Troy Valley (Melissa), Shane Valley (Erin); great-grandsons Marc Valley, Dylan Valley, Tyler Valley, Brandon McClamrock; step-great-granddaughter Maddie Goodman Beaver; step-great-great-grandson Brantley Cash Beaver of Salisbury.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Dunn's Mountain Baptist Church, 1350 Old Stone House Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Dunn's Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. R.J. Hammond officiating. Burial to follow in Dunn's Mountain Church Cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to Dunn's Mountain Baptist Church.
