Ruby Rowland Fisher

RICHFIELD - Ruby Faye Rowland Fisher, 82, of Gold Branch Road, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Albemarle.

She was born June 29, 1925, in Stanly County to the late John Archie Rowland and Dona Agnes Rogers Rowland. She was a homemaker and was active in her church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Fisher served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, card ministry, altar guild and Meals on Wheels. She was a graduate and valedictorian of Richfield High School and graduate of Pfeiffer Junior College, formerly Mitchell Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Harley Rowland, Alvin Rowland, Macon Rowland, Jay Rowland and twin brother Archie Rowland; and sister Frances Rowland Perry.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by her husband, Joe Francis Fisher of Richfield; son John Lynn Fisher and wife Beverly of Bald Head Island; daughters Bonnie Fisher Smith and husband Milas of Richfield, Joyce Fisher Ross and husband Michael of Richfield, Carol Fisher Carter and husband Joe of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Maurice Staley officiating. Burial will be at Richfield Cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. At other times, the family will meet at the home at 45108 Gold Branch Road.

Memorials: Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Richfield, NC.

Arrangements are by Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.
