Virginia 'Duree' Fisher

FAITH - Virginia "Duree" Hodge Fisher, of Faith, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem.

Mrs. Fisher was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Banks L. Hodge and Isla Lingle Ariail. She was a 1938 graduate of Boyden High School, was cafeteria manager with Owens Illinois and retired in 1970.

Mrs. Fisher was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, a former Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She was past Choir Director at Wittenberg Lutheran Church.

She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband of 40 years, J. Ray Fisher; her two children, Ron McCulloh and wife Mary Jane McCulloh of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Kaye Skelley and husband Chuck Skelley of Prattville, Ala.; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Frances Ritchie of Salisbury. Five grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren also survive.

Service: The funeral will be at 3 pm Sunday at Organ Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Terrell Long, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Yount, visitation pastor, with burial in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Organ Lutheran Church from 2-3 pm Sunday, and at the residence the remainder of the time.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church; or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC.
