Elsie Rufty Fisher
SALISBURY - Elsie Rufty Fisher, 88, of Salisbury, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 12, 1923, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Tom A. and Maude Carscaddon Rufty. She was educated at Hurley School and Boyden High School.
Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John S. Rufty.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Robert Lee Fisher, to whom she was married Feb. 8, 1942; daughter Phyllis Whirlow and husband Ted of Salisbury; son Robert Donald Fisher and wife Melba of Salisbury; and a grandson, Scott Croyle.
Service: A Graveside Service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday (June 13) at Rowan Memorial Park with Mr. Chris Shoaf officiating.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Funeral Home.
Summersett Funeral Home is serving the family.
