Melvin "Bob" Mitchell Eudy
Melvin "Bob" Mitchell Eudy, 83, of Oakboro, NC died after an extended illness late Monday evening, December 4, 2017 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle with his family by his side.
Mr. Eudy was born Thursday, May 31, 1934 in Albemarle, NC to the late Daniel A. and Effie Mae (Hatley) Eudy .
On May 14, 1955 he married his loving wife of 59 years the former Shelby Jean Smith who died, May 16, 2014.
He leaves behind his loving children to cherish his memory, Mitchel E. (Jamie) Eudy of Oakboro, Ricky D. (Janet) Eudy of Oakboro, Robbin E. Blalock of Garden City SC, Judy E. Huneycutt of Mount Pleasant and Tony J. (Annette) Eudy also of Oakboro, NC. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a sister, Myrtle J. Mabry of Norwood, NC.
Mr. Eudy is preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle, NC and at the family residence, 245 James Rd., Oakboro, NC. Graveside services will be on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery, 668 Big Lick Road Oakboro, NC with Rev. Jeff Springer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Eudy to Hospice of Stanly.
Bob will forever be missed by his loving and devoted family and many dear friends. May God grant him eternal rest.
Arrangements for Mr. Eudy are in the care of Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle.
