Friday, May 16, 2014 — Shelby Jean Eudy, 76 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.
Shelby was born January 29, 1938, in Cabarrus County, to the late Joe Avery Smith and the late May Belle Tucker Smith Gilbert.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Big Lick Baptist Church, 626 Big Lick Road, Oakboro, N.C. The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Springer, will follow at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Melvin Mitchell “Bob” Eudy of Oakboro; daughters, Robbin Blalock of Albemarle and Judy Huneycutt and husband Chris of Millingport; sons, Mitchel Eudy and wife Jamie, Ricky Eudy and wife Janet and Tony Eudy and wife Annette, all of Oakboro; grandchildren, Derrick, Colton and Kyle Huneycutt, BJ, Cody, Tyler and Austin Eudy, Summer Craver, Misty Lilly, Hillary Blalock and Katie Blalock; three great-grandchildren, Zeke Lilly and Kobey and Mila Carver; sister, Peggy Burris, and brother, Avery Smith and wife Vicki, of Oakboro.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
