Shirley Cline

Shirley Jene Fesperman Cline, 79, of Rockwell, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Shirley was born on December 20, 1936 in Rockwell, a daughter of the late Hoke and Mamie Corl Fesperman.

Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Rockwell High School. Shirley worked as the secretary of St. James Lutheran Church, secretary of Clayton Homes and most recently a Filing Clerk for Department of Social Services.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Shirley enjoyed yard work, reading and collecting angels. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Harold Cline. Daughter, Julie Troublefield, brothers, Hubert Fesperman and Eli Fesperman; sisters, Edith Duncan, Mary Katherine Fesperman, and Billie Carter.

Shirley is survived by her son, Jeffery Mark Cline and wife Susan of Mooesville, NC; Brother, Larry Fesperman and wife Betty of Rockwell; two granddaughters, Ashley Cline and Makayla Troublefield; and two grandsons, Christopher Troublefield and Scott Cline. Shirley is also survived by her life long friend, Becky Edison.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, 2:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Huebner and Rev. Charlie McManus, officiating.

Burial will take place in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Shirley may be made to The Childrens Home Society of NC, Greensboro, NC; or to St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Rockwell, NC.
