Thursday, April 13, 2006 — Floyd Sidney “Pete” Culp, 78, of 115 Falls Road, Badin died 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at his home.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Stanly Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Sid Martin will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.

Born July 27, 1927, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Floyd Oscar and Doris Dobbs Culp and was retired from ALCOA where he was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid fisherman and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended Grace Baptist Church.

A daughter, Carolyn Jane Culp, preceded him in death n 1950. Seven brothers, F.O. Culp Jr., Bain Culp, Johnny Culp, George Culp, Richard Culp, Allen Culp and Carl Culp, and four sisters, Helen Stout, Clara Furr, Elizabeth Gabriel and Patty Miller, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Frick Culp of the home; a son, Danny Pete Culp and wife, Jo, of Badin; a daughter, Barbara Ann Culp Rinehardt of Badin; a brother Claude Culp of Greensboro; three sisters Gwyn Culp of Badin, Peggy Harkey of Fayetteville and Lilly Harris of Burlington; and an honorable sister-in-law, Rachel Hamilton of Norwood; four grandchildren, Amy Moore and husband, Robert; Jason Culp and wife, Emily; Joseph Culp, and Michael Rinehardt and wife, Wendy; and six great-grandchildren, Allison Rinehardt, Jesse Rinehardt, Brittany Moore, Nathan Moore, Jonah Moore and Sydney Culp.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stanly Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
