FAITH - David Earl Fraley, 79, of Faith, died March 15, 2007, while at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks, Salisbury.

Mr. Fraley was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Samuel P. and Ada Peeler Fraley.

Mr. Fraley was educated in Rowan County at Faith and Granite Quarry schools. He was employed with Cannon Mills in Kannapolis as a sewing room supervisor for 25 years and retired in 1987 from Salisbury Marble & Granite Company after 20 years. He also owned and operated several businesses, Fraley & Peeler Service Station and Fraley Appliance & TV.

David was very active in the community, serving as president of Faith Jaycee's, 1962, President of Faith Civitan, 1975, and chief of Faith Fire Department, 1975 to 1977. He also served on the Rowan County Fair Board.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Fraley was preceded in death by grandson Eric Nathan Faggart; great-granddaughter Phyllis Ruth Leazer; brothers Mauyer, Wade, Welker, Delmar, Jim and Joe Fraley; and sisters Pauline Sifford, Vernell Stirewalt and Kathleen Yates.

Survivors are his wife, Patsy Hamilton Fraley, whom he married Oct. 8, 1944; daughters Mrs. Gary (Judy) Leazer of Faith, Mrs. Charles (Rickie) Faggart of China Grove, Mrs. George (Darlene) Shaheen of California and Mrs. Tony (Gail) Yarbrough, also of Faith; and sister Mrs. Ray (Janie) Peeler of Rockwell.

Mr. Fraley was a loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children.

Service: The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Reformed Church in Faith conducted by the Rev. Wayne Trexler, pastor, and the Rev. James Peeler, former pastor. Civitans will be seated as a group at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Church Fireplace Lobby from 3-4 p.m. Saturday and at the residence the remainder of the time.
