Wilbert Alexander Deal

Wilbert Alexander Deal, 95, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

He was born December 23, 1922, in Rowan County to the late Charlie and Mary Brown Deal. Mr. Deal attended Stanly County Schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. A member of Luther's Lutheran Church, he was active in all phases of the church, but especially in assisting to build the education building. Mr. Deal was employed by Cauble Brothers Construction Company and was the owner/operator of Deal's Cabinet Shop. In his spare time he loved fishing, reading, and gardening. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Deal was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lucille Deal and sister, Eva Deal Correll.

He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Plummer and husband, Gene, of Salisbury, Helen Safrit and husband, Johnny, of Salisbury, and Amy Fesperman and husband, Rick, of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Kevin Plummer and wife, Tonya, Jason Plummer and wife, Dina, and Nick Fesperman and wife, Crissy; six great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Plummer, Joshua Plummer, Jordan Plummer, Jenna Plummer, Emma Fesperman and Henry Fesperman; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM on Thursday, January 25, at Luther's Lutheran Church in Richfield.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM on Thursday, in Luther's Lutheran Church, Richfield, with Rev. Tommy Beaver, officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Autumn Care and the Hospice House. Autumn Care nurses, CNA's, and entire staff looked upon Mr. Deal as a member of their family. Hospice House provided loving care and support for Mr. Deal as well as the family. 

Memorials may be made to Luther's Lutheran Church.
