Eva Shive Kluttz

Eva Shive Kluttz, 94, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Meadows of Rockwell. 

She was born August 29, 1923 in Rowan County to the late Charlie and Margaret Lyerly Shive, she was the last surviving of fourteen children. Eva was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School. She worked for Cannon Mills Plant #1 in the sheet department, and then for Jeanette Maternity as a Plant Leader retiring in 1989. Eva was a life member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years, served on the church council and was a life member of the Women's Guild. 

She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Eva is survived by her son, Wendell H. Kluttz and wife Janie of Salisbury; granddaughters, Amber Kluttz Grimes and husband Zach of Salisbury, and Abby Kluttz of Salisbury; great-granddaughter, Madison Grimes; and foster daughter, Teresa Smith Ray and her children, Michael, Jacob, Isaiah, Joshua, Peter, Rachel, Rebecca, and Jonathan. 

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Hal B. "Doc" Kluttz on August 15, 2003; brothers, Alvin Shive, C.J. Shive, Cecil Shive, Earl Shive, Glenn Shive, Ham Shive, Hap Shive, and John Shive, Sisters, Gladys Slaughter, Hazel Ridenhour, Jean Kluttz, Lois Broadway, and Lucy Fink.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, January 12, 2018, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell NC.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, Faith, NC, with Rev. Richard Myers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Reformed Church Cemetery.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Meadows of Rockwell for the love and care they gave Eva while she was there.
