Hal Brown "Doc" Kluttz

Hal Brown "Doc" Kluttz, 82, of Salisbury, died Friday (Aug. 15, 2003) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 23, 1920, in Rowan County, Mr. Kluttz was a son of the late Walter M. "Pete" and Rose Earnhardt Kluttz.

Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he served in the U.S. Army and Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was the owner-operator of Doc's Repair Shop and a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, where he was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Church Council.

Daughter Pamela Rose Kluttz Heglar died April 1, 1981.

Survivors include wife Eva Shive Kluttz, whom he married Feb. 17, 1946; son Wendell H. Kluttz, Salisbury; brothers Jack, Leo and George Kluttz, all of Rockwell; sisters Joanna Eagle, Rockwell, and Mary Helen Shive, Virginia Sifford and Peggy Bost, all of Salisbury; and two grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Shiloh United Church of Christ, conducted by the Rev. Priscilla Causey, pastor. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 5:30-7 tonight, Powles Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
