William "Grant" Peeler, Jr.
Mr. William "Grant" Peeler, Jr., 67, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at CMC NorthEast in Concord.
He was born May 26, 1945 in Rowan County to the late William Grant Peeler, Sr. and Ruth Harrison Peeler.
Mr. Peeler was a 1963 graduate of East Rowan High School, was a veteran of the National Guard, and a member of Union Lutheran Church. He was a truck driver and also an instructor for Carolina Driving Institute. Mr. Peeler was a beloved grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma Peeler.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Fatata Peeler, whom he married in 1967; one son, William Grant Peeler, III and wife, Cheryl of Salisbury; one daughter, Jamie Peeler and fiance, Phillip Hedrick of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Justin Peeler, Lucas Hedrick, and Laci Peeler.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Powles Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. John Earnhardt.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Powles Funeral Home and at the residence the remainder of the time.
Memorials may be made to the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital, 920 Church Street North, Concord, NC.
