SALISBURY - John Charlie Calvin Shepherd, 77, of 750 Crawford Road died Sunday at Rowan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trading Ford Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Rowan County, he was retired from N.C. Fishing Co. and a member of Textile Union Local No. 440. He also was a member of the Men's Bible Class at his church.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Carrie Poplin Shepherd; son, Charlie Ray Shepherd Sr. of Salisbury; daughters, Mrs. Janie M. Wilson, Mrs. Linda James, both of Salisbury; brother, Dolph C. Shepherd of Salisbury; sisters, Mrs. Mary Propst of Mocksville, Mrs. Mandy Casper, Mrs. Ruth Propst, both of Salisbury; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Lyerly Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. today, other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trading Ford Baptist Church Building Fund, 3600 Longs Ferry Road, Salisbury, N.C. 28144.
