Billy Lee Rinehart

Billy Lee Rinehart, 86, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

Born January 31, 1929, he was the son of the late Esther Kluttz and Ray Rinehart.

A veteran of the US Navy, Billy operated Pope’s Restaurant and the Rockwell Shell Station. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was active in all phases of the church. Billy was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joetta Feezor Rinehart; brother, Spencer Rinehart; sister, Phyllis Beck.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ronnie Rinehart (Linda), Terry Rinehart (Judy) of Charleston, SC; daughters, Teresa Julian (Ron) of Huntersville, Paula Hedricks (Phil) of Denton; sister, Betty Yates of Huntersville; grandchildren, Shane Julian (Ashleigh), Melissa Hodapp (Sam); great-grandson, Harrison Lee Julian.

Visitation: 3:00-4:00 PM Sunday, September 6, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 4:00 PM Sunday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti, the Rev. Sandy Lyles and the Rev. Robert Blackburn officiating.

Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 7, 2015 at Clear Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, Denton, NC. Military rites will be performed by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, Salisbury, NC; the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC; First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, Waynesville, NC; or the Bill and Joetta Rinehart Foundation at Pheiffer University.
