SALISBURY - Geraldine Lane Casper, 66, of Salisbury, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at her daughter's residence in Salisbury.

Mrs. Casper was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Knoxville, Tenn., a daughter of the late Frank Leon Lane and Anna Lee Adkins Lane.

Mrs. Casper attended the Rowan County and Cabarrus County schools and retired from Pillowtex in 2003. She was a member of Old Country Baptist Church and liked to grow flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Leon Casper; brother Jimmy Ray Lane; and sister Jewel Nadine Howard.

She is survived by sons James Lee Casper of Oak Island, Joshua Wayne Casper and wife Cheryl; daughters Sandra Jean Nollenberger and husband Michael, Wanda Sue Javis and husband Jim, Tammy Howard Wilson and husband Cedric, all of Salisbury; brothers Kimble Wayne Lane of Lexington, William Leon Lane of Rockwell; stepbrothers Robert Shaver and Albert Shaver of Salisbury; sisters Bonnie Lee Cline of Kannapolis, Ruby Matthews of Salisbury; stepsister Mary Rose Carter; and grandchildren Heather Casper, Felica Casper, Michelle Casper, Christa Casper, William Nollenberger, Kayla VanBuren, Jamie Javis, Alan Pruitt, Jr., Hunter Casper, Jimmy Javis and Amanda Nollenberger.

Service: The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Powles Funeral Home Chapel in Rockwell conducted by Rev. Tom Lomax, pastor Old Country Baptist Church, and Rev. Johnny Morgan, pastor of Grateful Heart Ministries in Granite Quarry. Burial will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and the remainder of the time, at the residence of daughter Sandra Nollenberger of Salisbury.

Memorials: May be made to Rowan Regional Hospice.
