Beryl Ray Holshouser
SALISBURY - Beryl Ray Holshouser, age 75, of Salisbury, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Genesis Eldercare in Salisbury.
Born Aug. 20, 1930, in State Road, Mrs. Holshouser was the daughter of the late Roxie Simmons Ray and Kelly Ray. She was educated in Surry County schools and worked at the Advance Store. Later she worked part-time with her husband at Main Drug Company for several years and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Holshouser was very active in Second Presbyterian Church and sang in the church choir for more than 50 years. She was also active in the Women's Circle and assisted with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School and in the church office.
She is survived by her husband, O. Denham Holshouser Sr. of Salisbury; son Ozzie D. Holshouser Jr. of Cornelius; daughters Kathy Susan Holshouser Miller of Midland and Rebecca Anne Holshouser Ry of Charlottesville, Va.; niece Nancy Gwendolyn Holshouser Moore of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister Donna Ray of Winston-Salem.
Visitation and Service: The family will see friends Wednesday from 1-2:30 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church with Memorial Services following at 2:30 in the church. The Rev. Roger Mackey will be officiating.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, NC.
Summersett Funeral Home is assisting the family.
