Dorothy "Dot" Honeycutt

Dorothy "Dot" Honeycutt, 89, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at her daughter's home in Rockwell, NC.

She was born May 2, 1933 in Rowan County, NC to the late Mack and Bertie Miller Goodman. Dot worked at several different places including Cannon Mills, Rowan Industries in Rockwell and Rockwell School Cafeteria before retiring from The Meadows in Rockwell. She was a member of Organ Lutheran Church where she served as past Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Organ Senior Citizens and OWINGS group. Dot was also a member of the East Rowan Saddle Club. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting, and working in her garden. She and her husband loved to square dance and enjoyed fishing with their grandson.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray "Bill" Honeycutt; son, Toby Honeycutt; great-grandson, Michael Yang; and brothers, Hubert "John" Goodman and Eugene Goodman.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Love of Rockwell, NC; two brothers, Bob (Claire) Goodman and Floyd (Doris) Goodman; sister, Christine Culp; two grandsons, Shannon (Terri) Honeycutt and Ollie (Jennifer) Greene; four granddaughters, Lori (Steve) Yang, Leanne (Jason) Kluttz, Katie (Chris) Sease and Kelli Norman; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Organ Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in the Organ Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC, with Pastor Tonya Brittain officiating.

Burial will take place in the Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church, 1515 Organ Church Road, Salisbury, NC, and the Michael Yang Foundation, 102 Wyndham Way, Salisbury, NC.
