Thomas Ray Honeycutt

Mr. Thomas "Bill" Ray Honeycutt, 82, of Rockwell died on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Wake Forrest University Medical Center. Mr. Honeycutt was born on September 13, 1926 in Rowan County, son of the late Joe Thomas Honeycutt and Pearl Wyatt Honeycutt. He was educated at Rockwell School and was retired from Litton Taylor Manufacturing. Mr. Honeycutt was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II.

Mr. Honeycutt was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, he was a former Church Council Member, a lifetime member and a charter member of East Rowan Saddle Club, he enjoyed salt water fishing, surf fishing, gardening, farming, he called square dances at Tommy's Hay Loft, and he loved his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Parks, Lula Mae Honeycutt, Betty Jean Honeycutt and great grandchild Michael Yang. Mr. Honeycutt is survived by his wife Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Goodman Honeycutt, whom he married October 23, 1948, son Toby Honeycutt and wife Rhonda of Rockwell, daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Love of Rockwell, brothers Kenneth Honeycutt of Faith, John Honeycutt and wife Barbara of Blacksburg, VA, Robbie Honeycutt and wife Lynette of Winston-Salem, sisters Lillie Ruth Honeycutt Isenhour of Richfield, Helen Brown of Harrisonburg, VA and 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Organ Lutheran Church , conducted by Rev. Terrell Long, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Organ Lutheran Church Parlor from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday. The family will be at the residence the remainder of the time.
