SALISBURY - Mrs. Robbie Virginia Wyrick Basinger, 82, of Salisbury passed away Friday August 17, 2007 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 20, 1924 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Mary Misenheimer Wyrick and the late Cletis O. Wyrick. She was a graduate of Boyden High School.
After 52 years of service and 50 years without missing a day of work she retired from Cannon Mills Plant #7. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and an avid baseball fan rooting for the Legion Team and the Atlanta Braves.
She was preceded in death by her husband Zeb Ben Basinger who died November 12, 1982 and a son Ronald Lee "Butch" Basinger on July 1, 2007.
Survivors include sons James "Jim" Basinger and wife Linda of Ritchfield, and Benny Basinger and fiance Suzie Huner of Salisbury. Grandchildren John Basinger and wife Michelle, Jason Basinger and wife Leslee, and Scott and Kip Basinger. Great grandchildren John Dale Basinger, Jr., Sumner Banks Basinger and Catherine Caroline-Elle Basinger.
Services: 3:00 pm Monday August 20, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Don Safrit. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: Sunday August 19, 2007 at Lyerly Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM.
