CHINA GROVE - John Patterson Bame, 72, of 609 N. Main St., died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Born August 25, 1935, in Rowan County, Mr. Bame was son of the late John Lee and Beulah Patterson Bame. He was a 1955 graduate of China Grove High School and a graduate of Winston-Salem Barber School. Mr. Bame retired from Sanitary Barber Shop, China Grove, after 45 years of service.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, China Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Fraley Bame, whom he married February 28, 1965; sons Todd Bame of Severn, Md., and Scott Bame (Allison) of Rockwell; and brother Harry (Janette) Bame of China Grove.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Vance Lowe, and Rev. Jimmy Faggart. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home on North Main Street.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, China Grove, NC; or American Diabetes Association.
Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, is assisting the Bame family in making arrangements for their loved one.
