Tuesday, July 11, 2006 — Carrie Irene Eudy McIlwaine, 67, of 24770 Snickers Lane, Albemarle, died at 8:31 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006, in NorthEast Medical Center.

Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday with a 60-minute state in Canton Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Mabry and The Rev. Farrell Shimpock will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service. At other times they will meet at the home.

Born Sept. 16, 1938, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Millard Levi Eudy and the late Gathie Marina Almond Eudy and was retired owner and operator of Hair Kare Boutique. She was a member of the Stanly County Hairdressers Association and an active member of Canton Baptist Church where she was past secretary of the Victory Sunday School Class.

She loved going to Harker’s Island to fish and she enjoyed cooking. Her church and grandchildren were her life.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Ervin, Cletus and Charlie Eudy.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Andrew McIlwaine of the home; three sons, Danny Andrew McIlwaine and wife, Leah, and Larry John McIlwaine and wife, Kim, all of Albemarle, and Gary John McIlwaine and wife, Tammi, of Oakboro; a daughter, Regina McIlwaine Barbee and husband, Rod, of Albemarle; three brothers, Ralph Eudy, Ernest “Satch” Eudy and Floyd Eudy, all of Albemarle; and four sisters, Ramelle Martin and Doris Eudy, both of Albemarle, Oaksie Cole of Greensboro and Lois Marlow of Concord; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Stanly County; Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County; Canton Baptist Church; or the organization of the donor’s choice.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is in charge.
