Mrs. Doris Barnhardt Basinger, 76, of Richfield, died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Genesis Eldercare, Salisbury.
Born August 1, 1928 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Rebecca Eudy Barnhardt and Roy Leonard Barnhardt and step-daughter of the late Eva Cline Barnhardt.
Mrs. Basinger was educated at Concord High School and retired from Richfield Manufacturing as a seamstress supervisor. She was a member of Luther's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.L. Basinger whom she married April 27, 1946; 3 daughters, Kathy B. Varnadore and husband Jerry Max of Richfield, Phillis B. McSwain and husband Dan and Bonnie Basinger, both of Albemarle; 3 grandchildren, Julie V. Null of Richfield, Megan K. McSwain and Kathleen G. McSwain of Albemarle; 2 great-grandchildren, Sarah Null and Jonathan Null of Richfield.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-3:00 p.m. at Luther's Lutheran Church in the fellowship hall and the remainder of the time at the residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Luther's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alfred Rhyne, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial may be made to Luther's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 4955 Richfield Road, Richfield, NC 28137.
