Roy Lee Almond
Roy Lee Almond, 75 years of age, of Midland, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Almond was born July 8, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Ollie Almond and Lucy Jane Varner Almond. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
The graveside service will be at 4 p.m., Monday, March 12, at Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church of Richfield officiated by Rev. Emily Kroeger and Rev. Tony Bowman.
At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Barrier Almond, of the home; his children, Terry Almond and his wife, Shirley, of Midland, Wanda Almond Whited and her husband, Jerry, of Midland, Tammy Almond of Midland, Darrell Almond, and Darin (Pee Wee) Almond and his wife, Tina; his brother, Robert Almond of Albemarle; his sister, Ruth Page of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Melissa, Amber, Jennifer, Angela, Terri, Sherry, Brandin, Michael, and Tanya; and 24 great-grandchildren.
