Donald Marvin Bowers, 77, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born February 6, 1946, in North Carolina to the late Marvin Thomas Bowers and the late Pauline Arbutus Lambert Bowers. He was also preceded in death by son, Brian Donald Bowers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, January 8, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Ron Dry. Burial will immediately follow at the Pine Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 28766 NC 24-27 Highway, Albemarle.
Survivors include wife of 57 years, Melody Helms Bowers of the home; daughter, April (Ronnie) Hathcock of Albemarle, NC; grandchildren, Cody Garner, Peyton Garner, and Aiden Maynard; sister, Patricia (Chester) Lewis; and beloved dog, Buddy.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, or Tillery Compassionate Care.
