Carr William “C.W.” Trexler

Mr. Carr William (C.W.) Trexler, 88 of Richfield went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Genesis Health Care of Salisbury.

Mr. Trexler was born September 19, 1928 in Rowan County, son of the late Lewis Trexler and Julia Corena Morris Trexler. Mr. Trexler attended Rowan County Schools. He worked 24 years at N.C. Finishing Company and worked at Richfield Manufacturing and also at Edwin Hammill Farm and Wilson's Chicken Farm until his retirement.

He enjoyed chewing his tobacco and he enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed when his grandson Levi would come to visit and going with his daughter Vickie to different places.

Mr. Trexler never met a stranger. He loved being with his family. He was always a hard working man who always provided for his family.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his loving wife Mildred Treece Trexler on March 3, 2012 whom he married June 16, 1951, son in law Zeb Perry Young and sisters Addie Trexler, Nina Pepper and brother Harold Trexler.

He is survived by his daughters Carolyn Young of Salisbury and Vickie Yow of Richfield, two grandsons Justin Sheppard of Mocksville, Johnathan Sheppard of Salisbury, two great grandsons Levi of Mocksville and Max of Salisbury and a sister Essie Mae Parker of Cherryville.

The family will receive friends at Powles Staton Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 16 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 17 at 2:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Todd Galloway of Centerview Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Wyatts Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
