Teresa Ann Brooks Hatley

On Sunday Morning, November 27, 2016 Teresa Ann Brooks Hatley, 66, of New London, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Her funeral will be 11 AM Thursday December 1 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Smith and Rev. Dolan Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 till 7 at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Born September 22, 1950 in Cleveland County, NC she was the daughter of the living Rev. Yates Brooks and Merle Hasting Brooks of New London. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and was the owner and operator of Fast Stop Food Stores.  She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and loved her grandchildren and caring for her son David.

Teresa was married to the late Johnny Fred Hatley. She is survived by one son, David Hatley of the home, two daughters, Shelly Palmer (David) of New London, and Lisa Hammill (Nathan) of Rockwell, two sisters, Rita Comer (Danny) of Walkertown, NC and Chris Speight (David) of Oakboro, and four grandchildren, Branson Palmer, Patrick Hammill, Colson Hammill, and Jessie Hammill. Mrs. Hatley is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be made to the David Hatley Fund at North Carolina Bank to care for their son.
