ALBEMARLE - Helen Faye (Petrea) Herlocker, 83, of 20880 Bear Creek Church Road, New London, N.C., died on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. She was born on April 22, 1926, in Cabarrus County, N.C. She was a member of Plyler Baptist Church.The family will meet at her home.She was the daughter of the late Charlie Petrea and the late Dovie (Fisher) Petrea.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Jeff Herlocker; brothers, Glenn Petrea, Ralph Petrea and Harold Petrea; and sisters, Ann Drye, Cleo Williams and Bert Bost.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold James Herlocker, of New London, N.C.; daughter, Judy Hartsell and husband, Norman, of Albemarle, N.C.; sons, Jerry Herlocker and wife, Suzanne, of Midland, N.C., Roger Herlocker and wife, Karen, of New London, N.C., and Terry Herlocker and wife, Barbara, of New London, N.C.; daughter, Lisa Meeks, of Albemarle, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009. The funeral service will be at Plyler Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2009, with a 30-minute state. The Rev. Brian Franklin will officiate. Interment will be at Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle, N.C.
