Thursday, February 9, 2012 ― Harold James Herlocker, age 91, of New London, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at CMC-Main.

The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, February 9 from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Brian Franklin at Plyler Baptist Church with a 30 minute state. Burial will follow at Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home.

Mr. Herlocker was born in Stanly County on June 25, 1920, to the late Issac Monroe Herlocker and the late Cora Isabell Speight Herlocker. In 2009, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Faye Petrea Herlocker. A grandson, Jeff Herlocker, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sons, Jerry Herlocker and his wife Suzanne of Midland, Roger Herlocker and his wife Karen and Terry Herlocker and his wife Barbara, all of New London; two daughters, Judy Hartsell and her husband Norman and Lisa Meeks, all of Albemarle; one sister, Louise Miller of Richfield; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 25972 Austin Road, Albemarle, NC.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Herlocker family.
