Louise A. Goodman

SALISBURY - Mrs. Louise Agner Goodman, 79, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

Louise was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Rowan County to the late Joseph Lee Agner and Abbie Cauble Agner.

She attended Rowan County schools and was a homemaker. A member of First Baptist Church of Rockwell, Louise enjoyed gardening and mowing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lawson Alexander Goodman Jr., who passed away Nov. 10, 2007; son Rodney Goodman; five brothers; and two sisters.

Louise is survived by her son, William "Bill" Goodman of Salisbury; daughters Phyllis Eller and husband Mickey and Debbie Holshouser and husband Kyle, all of Salisbury; sister Rachel Wagoner; grandchildren Buddy Eller, Andy Goodman, Angie Goodman and Alex Holshouser; and great-grandchild Eden Goodman.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.

Service: The funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Matthew Laughter, pastor. Mrs. Goodman will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Autumn Care and Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care and support.
