Lucille C. Barringer
GOLD HILL - Lucille Chapman Barringer, 79, of 2625 Bethlehem Church Road, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at CMC-Northeast.
Mrs. Barringer was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Charlie A. Chapman and Maudie Sisk Chapman. She was a very active member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, lifetime member of LCW, choir, children's choir and served as church sexton for many years. She also enjoyed crafts and flowers.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Herman W. Barringer; son Randy Barringer of Rockwell; daughter Harriet Barringer Carpenter of Walkertown; brother Don Chapman of Martinsville, Va.; sister Margie Chapman Miller of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Service: Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Constance Garrett; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The Barringer family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
