Herman Wilson Barringer
GOLD HILL - Herman Wilson Barringer, 88, of St. Andrews Living Center, formerly of Bethlehem Church Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.
Mr. Barringer was born June 30, 1924, in Cabarrus County, son of the late Jesse F. Barringer and Ella Hahn Barringer. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where he had served on Church Council and as Sunday School teacher. He also was a life-member of the Lutheran Men.
Mr. Barringer was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Chapman Barringer; a brother, Ralph Barringer; and a sister, Oma B. Foil.
He is survived by a son, Randy Barringer of Rockwell, daughter Harriet Carpenter of Gold Hill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Andrews Living Center for their care during Herman's declining health.
Service: Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Constance Garrett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The Barringer family will receive friends from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Memorials: May be directed to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 4401 St. Stephen's Church Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
