Jettie B. Hill

GOLD HILL - Mrs. Jettie Frances Barringer Hill, 90, of Gold Hill, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem.

Mrs. Hill was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late John Paul Barringer and Mertie Mae Isenhour Barringer.

A 1942 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Mrs. Hill was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, the Lucy Isenhour Sunday School Class, the church choir and WELCA and was a past Sunday School teacher.

Mrs. Hill was also a member of Homemakers Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and babysitting the children of the community.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Leo Hill Sr.; a son, Charles Hill; brothers Ray Barringer, Murphy Barringer, Leo Barringer, Felix Barringer and Edward Barringer; and a sister, Hazel Ruth Stoner.

Survivors include sons Ray Hill and wife Diane, Jimmy Hill and wife Jane and Virgil Leo Hill Jr. and wife Roberta of Gold Hill; brother Robert Barringer of Richfield; grandchildren Tammy Honeycutt and husband Tommy, Connie Talley and husband Shannon, Matthew Hill and wife Samantha, Ryan Hill, Shawn Hill and wife Ameran, Daniel Pope and wife Holly, Susan Kolodny and husband Jason, Joe Cauble and wife Faren, Charlene Saldana and husband Roberto; 11 great-grandchildren; and special friend Vance "Jack" Goodman.

Visitation: 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Gold Hill,

Funeral Service: 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Constance Garrett, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
