ALBEMARLE - Gladys Efird McCommons, 78, 28427 Valley Drive, died Sunday (12 Dec 1999) at her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1921, in Stanly County, Mrs. McCommons was a daughter of the late Fred Carl and Iber Dye Efird. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Shelby L. Burleson, Vann B. Smith and L. Cecil McCommons.
Survivors include son S. Leon Burleson, Charlotte; sister Edna S. Connell, Manassas, Va.; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, First Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. John W. Futterer and the Rev. Heidi Sommers. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home on Valley Drive.
Memorials: First Lutheran Church, Endowment Fund, 230 S. Second St., Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
