BURLINGTON Mrs. Trudy Broadwell Rogers, 91, of 1806 Edgewood Ave., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at her residence.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Rich & Thompson Chapel, Burlington, conducted by Dr. Craig McMahan and Dr. Dale O. Steele. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, in Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro.
A native of Lownesville, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Calvin Sanders Broadwell and the late Daisy Bone Broadwell. She was a secretary to the superintendent of the public schools in Stanly County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Trudy Rogers Evans of Birmingham, Ala.; sons, Mr. Arthur H. Rogers Jr. and Mr. Marshall C. Rogers, both of Albemarle; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Mr. Henry Calvin Broadwell of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Henry Rogers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary, Burlington. Other times, they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Trudy & Arthur Rogers Scholarship Fund, c/o Elon College; or the Rogers Scholarship, c/o Pfeiffer University.
