Jaye Lindsay Hess, 43, of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born on November 14, 1974 in Rowan County to Lindsay Hess and the late Carolyn Lassell Hess.
He was a 1993 graduate of East Rowan High School, he attended UNC Charlotte, and he graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology. He was awarded the Columbus Howard Morrison Academic Scholarship while he was at UNC Chapel Hill.
Jaye obtained his Pilot's License like his dad and he attended acting school in Asheville and loved to perform. He loved movies and could recite entire lines from any movie he saw. He loved going to the beach and seeing his longtime friends. He was passionate about working out and playing the drums, but more than anything he loved, cherished, and spoiled his niece and nephew Landrie and Dayton. They were the light of his life.
In addition to his mother, Jaye was preceded in death by a brother, "Baby Boy Hess".
In addition to his father, Jaye is survived by his sister, Jennie Hess Paterno of Faith; two brothers, Bryan Keith Hess of Faith, and Jonathan Gary Hess of Faith; a nephew, Dayton Hess; a niece, Landrie Hess; and numerous extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 5, 2018 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
