Robert Alexander “Bobby” Blalock
Robert Alexander “Bobby” Blalock 78 of Norwood died peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday Morning, May 31, 2020 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. David Hatley will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens. He will lie in state Monday afternoon, June 1, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 and Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM where friends are welcome to pay their respects.
Bobby was born June 24, 1941 in Stanly County to the late T.A. and Inez Lowder Blalock. He was a 1959 graduate of Norwood High School and a graduate of Appalachian State University. He retired after more than 30 years as a Physical Science and History Teacher at West Stanly High School. Following his retirement he was Manager of Quik Chek in Troy.
Bobby was an avid Panthers Fan and enjoyed his life on Lake Tillery and camping with his family at the beach.
He will be remembered by all who loved him as a wonderful father and loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son Alex Blalock (Paula) of Norwood and his daughter Natalie Harris of Norwood. Four grandchildren, Holly Litaker (Mike), Andria Harris (Andy), Cale Blalock and Clifford Blalock (Tracy). Three great-grandchildren, Caroline Johnson, Jensen Litaker and Kallie Blalock. One brother, Wayne Blalock (Peggy) of Charlotte and two sisters, Caroline Hedman (Jack) of Fairfax, Virginia and Lois Harward of Norwood.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Faye Carriker Blalock, his son-in-law Adam Harris and two brothers, Carlton and Doyle Blalock.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharries, Albemarle, NC.
