Albert "Ray" Kepley
Albert "Ray" Kepley, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury, NC.
He was born March 31, 1932 in Rowan County, NC to the late Harmon and Pearl Kluttz Kepley. Ray was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War in Okinawa, Japan and Walters Air Force Base in Texas.
Ray and his wife Janet owned and operated B&K Roller Rink, Kepley Construction Company and built and operated Kepley Rentals.
When his health permitted, Ray was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church, he sang in the choir and volunteered his time.
Ray's hobby was his work and traveling with his wife Janet, he also enjoyed helping people whenever he could.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Fisher Kepley, grandson, Sawyer Kepley, and sisters, Hazel Honeycutt and Bessie Taylor.
Ray is survived by sons, Dennis Kepley, Dean Kepley, Terry Kepley and wife Susan, and Chuck Kepley and wife Kathy; daughter, LuAnn Kepley Mauney and husband Ritchie; granddaughters, Chasty Underwood and husband David, Neina Barnhardt, Averi Shoaf and husband Ryan, Abby Kepley, Macklyn Kepley, Emma Kepley, and Brittany Kepley; grandsons, Gabe Barnhardt and wife Merrisa, Paden Kepley and wife Jessica, Kane Kepley, Chandler Spry, Adam Kepley and wife Diana, Hunter Kepley and wife Carolina, Griffin Kepley and wife Hannah; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Herman Kepley; sisters, Jean Lefler, and Mary Lois "Pug" Coan; and his caregivers, Rachel Carlyle and Susan Hoagland.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, May 30, 2019, 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 30, 2019, in the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. Gerry Steedley and Darren Wike, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Nazareth Children's Home, Rockwell NC.
