Thursday, September 8, 2011 — Alene Tucker Lambert, age 83, of 24542 Endy Road, Albemarle, died at 10:04 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2011 in North Carolina Lutheran Home, Albemarle.
The family received friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. The body remained at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Canton Baptist Church, Albemarle. Pastor Mark Mabry and Rev. Farrell Shimpock will officiate and burial will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born April 6, 1928 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late John Frank and Rosa Hatley Tucker.
She was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mill Co., a member of Canton Baptist Church and a volunteer at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Lambert was married to the late Herman Lambert, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Survivors include one son, Frank Lambert and wife Betty of New London; one daughter, Brenda Baker and husband Jimmy of Conway, S.C.; one sister, Louvada Barbee of Albemarle; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
