Robert Wayne "Bob" Medlin
Robert Wayne "Bob" Medlin, 85, of Rockwell, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
He was born January 21, 1937, in Cabarrus County, to the late Claude Herman Medlin and Gussie Inez Williams Medlin. Mr. Medlin was a Graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1954 until 1957. He was the owner of Delta Electric in Salisbury before retiring. Mr. Medlin was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Rockwell AMVETS Post 845, Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge 657, and the Rowan Shrine Club. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch and loved the beach. He also loved NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Brown Medlin; brother, Pete Medlin; and sisters, Claudette Craig and Priscilla Horne.
He is survived by his children, Mitch Medlin of Rockwell and Kim Ellenburg and husband, David, of Rockwell; sister, June Hartsoe of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Jake Ellenburg (Chelsea), Justin Trimmer (Brianna), Sydney Vinson (Ben), and Bree Myers (Khalid); and great-granddaughters, Aubree Cole and Ruby June.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Friday, September 9, at Powles Staton Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM, on Friday, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Kluttz and Pastor Mike Shoaf officiating.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Comfort Keepers, Hospice, and every nurse that cared for him. The family appreciates the love.
