ROCKWELL - Judy Brown Medlin, 67, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at her residence.
Judy was born March 14, 1944, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Arthur Gordon Brown and Mildred Barger Brown. Judy was a 1962 graduate of East Rowan High School and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Judy had worked for Cannon Mills and Delta Electric before retiring. She worked at the East Rowan YMCA in the Child Watch Department and the nursery.
She especially loved her grandchildren. Judy and her family loved their vacations to Cherry Grove Beach.
Survivors include husband Robert Wayne "Bob" Medlin, who she married Oct. 12, 1963; son Mitch Medlin; daughter Kim Ellenburg and husband David of Rockwell; grandchildren Jacob Ellenburg and fiancee Kayla Hatley, Sydney Ellenburg, Breeanna Medlin and Justin Medlin; sisters Phyllis Vanhoy of Faith, Frankie Vanhoy and Brenda Kluttz of Rockwell.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Memorial Service: Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Clarence Sifford, pastor Faith Lutheran Church, and Rev. Richard Smith, pastor of The Rock.
Memorials: May be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Building Fund.
