James Paul Barringer

SALISBURY - James Paul Barringer, Sr., 90, of Salisbury, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Barringer was born April 25, 1915, in Rowan County to the late Dave and Laura Jane Agner Barringer. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and retired from NC Finishing Company after 35 years of service. Mr. Barringer was a member of St. Matthew 's Lutheran Church. His wife Ruby Starnes Barringer preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2000.

Survivors include his daughter Jean Jones and her husband Bobby of Salisbury; sons James Paul Barringer, Jr. and his wife Barbara and David Leon Barringer and his wife Dottie all of Salisbury; brother Lincoln Barringer of Salisbury; sisters Norma Lee Daniels and Louise File both of Salisbury; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary Coble, minister of St. Matthew 's Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial: St. Matthew 's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at the Summersett Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of his daughter Jean Jones, 7460 Bringle Ferry Road.

Memorials: St. Matthew 's Lutheran Church, 9275 Bringle Ferry Road.
